[ActiveDir] Making a PDC

Hello I have a small loaner computer that I installed Windows 2000 Advanced Server on. I am not connected to any network at all. I try to install Active Service Directory and it says that the Network is not found. Why would it look for a network when I said that I was the only server? Please can somebody tell me how to set up Active Directory Service on a spare computer? Thanks in advance.
