I got the problem resolved. There was a policy associated with it. I appreciate the response. I left a part of the design of my site out so I could get just an objective windows 2000 AD view of what the problem could be. The win2000 server is running AD and is the primary server but it is also running Novell Edirectory and Novell Zenworks for desktops. What happened was I assigned a Zenworks policy at login to run a script and it for some reason prevented the admin account from having any privileges. Again thanks for the response
