Rob -

MS describe this as a feature :-) I believe they are working on a fix for
this and the ability to change the DNS TTL setting.

You could disable the 'Register this connection's addessses in DNS' setting
on the DNS properties page of the heartbeat network card and use a 'hosts'
file with an entry specified for the other half of the cluster.

Subject: [ActiveDir] DNS entries

Hi All,

I seem to have never ending problems... KILL ME!

I've got a couple of Nodes operating as a SAN. Each node has 2 NICs... 1
for general network connectivity, and 1 used as a heartbeat for the cluster
(on a different subnet). The problem occurs due to the fact that the
heartbeat connection keeps getting registered within DNS, and of course the
machines on the general network cannot communicate. I manually delete the
host and everything is fine until the heartbeat registers the name and
address again.

How can I stop these entries from being registered?

Thanks again in advance.... This group is my lifeline!
