This is for our less experienced Group Policy readers, as I know that
David is well versed in this....

You will not be able to assign the Group Policy settings to the default
Users container - it must be assigned at the OU, Domain, or Site object
to be of any use.

Good luck!

You can do this through a Group Policy Object within the section:

'User Settings | Windows Settings | Internet Explorer Maintenance |
Connection | Proxy Settings'

For these settings to take effect they need to be assigned to the
container that holds your user objects (not machine objects).

Subject: [ActiveDir] Automatic configuration of proxy clients

Hi guys,

I have a domain running about 300 hundred machines and i am expecting
about 150 more machines to join the network. I am prersently having a
problem. When any machine joins the network the proxy settings have to
be manually configured on each system before they can have access to the
internet.

I am looking for a way by which when a user logs into the network for
the first time, these settings are automatically configured and one does
not have to go to each machine manually and have to start changing all
these properties.

Any ideas would be highly appreciated.
