Can you forward a copy of the pro's/con's list that you presented? We are about to
embark on the same battle. Any information (documentation) that anyone has would be
very beneficial.

Know what you are going through. I am a consultant to a company with 140,000 users .
Currently have 25 different resource domains. (Account domains were always controlled
by a central authority) The admins wanted to maintain autonomy over their units.
Even wanted to create their own forest. I gathered documentation to show they would
still have control over their resources using OU's. For forest wide decisions, a
committee from each business unit and the central authority is being set up. We also
gave them a pros and con list of maintaining their own forest. FSMO roles are
controlled by a central authority. We have some sites, that will create their own
domains because of different requirements, but the majority are coming in as OU's.

Subject: [ActiveDir] Introductions...

Hello everyone,

After lurking for a week or so, just wanted to send a quick note to introduce myself.
I'm an admin for a firm in London, currently designing an AD structure for our group,
to be rolled out this year, and very nervous about it! Our AD structure will cover 15
sites, linked via VPN in an arrangement with 3 hubs and 12 spokes. Needless to say.
each site currently has its own NT4 domain with different naming/security policy, so
I'm using this as an opportunity to bind everyone together into a common structure. I
have a feeling the politics will be harder than the techinical bits by the end :)

Nice to meet you all...

Cheers,
Paul
