In addition to Robert's good advice, you'll need to make sure that the DNS admin of the Unix box has set your DNS server up as one of the recipients - IOW a recognized NS for that domain.
Simply BEING a secondary server of a domain does not necessarily mean that you will receive secondary DNS information. Notify from the Primary is a good thing to have as well.
