As a general rule of thumb, you should place AD Integrated zones on
your DC's that host AD. Keep in mind that DNS zone's will not replicate
between parent and child domains using AD Integrated zones. If you need the
replication to occur, you will need to use traditional primary/secondary
zones.
For example: You have a primary AD called xyz.com. You create a child
domain called sales.xyz.com. You can use AD integrated zones for each AD
domain but those zones stay within the domain they are integrated with. If
you want the records from the xyz.com domain to replicate to sales.xyz.com,
you'll need to create a traditional secondary on the sales.xyz.com and have
the replication to occur via standard DNS replication.
The reason is that DNS zone records don't replicate between domains
using AD. AD replication only occurs within the domain.

Oops...forgot to change my subject line...
Can I get some feedback on the following scenario?
1 root domain controller running w2k, dns, dhcp
2 newly created child domain servers
For the sake of consistency is it necessary to have AD-Integrated zones
installed on all DC's or should I place Standar Primary zones on the child
domains and leave the AD-Integrated zone on the root DNS server?
I'm lookin at an article from Microsoft that outlines the procedures but
they use Standard Primary zones as opposed to AD-Integrated zones on the
child domains. Just looking to see how others have approached this.
