John, I use NetSaint combined with MRTG, Netsaint
is opensource, and has source for both win32 and nix, I prefer to run it on a
secured linux box, runs flawless, it has a wonderful web interface and can
monitor almost anything, and if you are a programmer you can extend it easily,
granted its not like the plug in commercial type , meaning anyone can install
it, but if you play with it and put sometime in with it , you will be an expert
in know time and will have a very valuable tool to monitor, NT services, hard
drive space, even files on ntfs partitions, very nice utility...
