Sandra:

The only way to move a user between containers in Exchange is to Export the
user email, delete the user, create a new account in the target container,
and import the user back in.....

I would:
1. set your current CA's to not replicate deletes both to and from
AD\Exchange.
2. export users mail box
3. delete user in exchange
4. remove the "ADC Global Names" Value of the user in AD, otherwise the ADC
will think this user already has an Exchange mailbox. You can do this if
you are running SP2 by showing "advance features" click exchange tasks, and
select "remove exchange attributes" Otherwise you need to delete all
exchange attributes using ADSI, need to delete the email address as well.
5. re-create the mailbox on 5.5 allow the ADC to sync
6. import mail from the export

also, make sure you make all your changes on the servers (AD and Exchange)
that you CA's terminate on. I would suggest testing this in a test
environment before doing it on a production user.

Both the exchange accounts and AD accounts are stamped with
"ADC-Global-Names" value, the ADC uses this value to keep the accounts in
sync, if the value does not appear on an email account, the adc will use
"primary NT account", if the "primary NT account either can not be found or
already has email attributes (homeserver, homemta, email address, adc global
names value, etc,) the adc will create a disabled user in ad.

Hope this helps

I can move them with no problem within AD but moving them out of the
recipients container in EXCHANGE seems not to be a possibility

I found this article on it
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=KB;EN-US;Q231461&; but wanted
to know if there was an easier way

Salandra

        I may be overly simplifying your email but how I read it, what
you need to do should be no problem for you.

Go into AD U&C on your and right click on the users/groups (whatever)
and select MOVE.

You should get a pop up window with the tree off you organization. Just
click where you want to move them and you should be all set.

How do you move recipients between two recipients containers located on
the
same server?

I have the ADC configured between AD and Exchange and this is the
current CA
agreement I have in place

Currently I have:

Exchange                Active Directory
Recipients      =       Users, OU1, OU2, OU3 etc.

This is the CA Agreement I want in place

What I want to do now is

Exchange                Active Directory
Recipients      =       Users
Recipients1     =       OU1
Recipients2     =       OU2
Recipients3     =       OU3

Any help would be appreciated, I am trying to avoid the possibility of
new
accounts getting created.
