Has anyone out there experienced issues with manually creating a computer object in the desired OU, then adding the object to the domain through the local system policies of My Computer?

 

We are a very large company and some techs are adding servers or workstations in this way and we end up not being able to manage that object.

Resolution to this problem is moving to workgroup, cleaning up AD computer object, re-add (to default computer OU), move to OU where computer will reside.

 

Preferred methods are:  1) just add to domain, (default computer OU), then move to appropriate OU for organizational reasons, or 2) insert with netdom ver 2 directly to desired OU.
