Hello, I want to
deploy some apps that use .msi files to some Win2K machines. I am having trouble
with the source files and where I put them. Here is what I have
done...
1. I created a
share on a member file and print server and gave full control share permissions
to "domain computers"
2. I put the msi
file in the share.
3. I created an
assigned package using the full UNC path to the msi. I gave "domain computers"
the "apply group policy" right.
When the computer
boots, it does not install. Event viewer says: event 102. The installation path
is not available.
However, if I put
the installation files on a domain controller, it installs the software
fine..
I cannot find
anything that says I need to put the source files on a DC, - I would like to use
a File and Print server or DFS share for a single distribution point.. What
could be wrong?
