about the 3) question I Installed 30 Cluster 2000 Sql Compaq Machine on server that are not in AD (normal NT 4 Domain).
Later, for reorganization, I moved them in AD (domain 2000 trusted bidir with the first) without publication without problems also for the users (human and sw) that are in the old domain.

The publication in AD is useful (very much) ONLY if you use replication of server engines (or database) and applications created with this as objective.
For basic uses, is useful to centralize the authoritation the access to db and object db (tables, columns, stored proc etc.)

I wrote a centralized redirect AD info and several other info (eventlog, status processes, task list, rights, accessese) to a AD published database only to study and test.
It works very well

Can you show me any documented proof of that? Its not listed in any of the
cluster documentation that I've seen.
