My situation is this: In my company I have 1 AD Forest. The forest root domain is CO.MYCOMPANY.COM. Then there's another domain in the forest called INT.MYCOMPANY.COM. Now I would like to disconnect the INT.MYCOMPANY.COM, making it the forest root domain of a different forest. I would like to preserve the NETBIOS name of this domain, so the traditional migration tools aren't very helpful. Does anyone knows a way of doing this? I thought of a way that consisted in migrating all the accounts to a freshly installed domain with the same name of the original one and then changing the domain's SID... But I'm not convinced this will work. Please help. Thanks in advance.
