Richard, On one (or both - but not necessary) you will have to have DNS set up and operational. If you go to Control Panel->Add/Remove Programs->Windows Components->Networking Services then make sure that you check the box for Domain Name Services. Supply the CD when requested.
Once this is done, you will need to change your TCP/IP settings on your NIC. Make sure that the DNS setting is set to the TCP/IP address of the system that you've installed DNS on. You have a choice of AD Integrated (typically default) or Primary. I'd stay with AD Integrated until you get some experience with DNS.
