Subject: Re: [ActiveDir] documenting servers

There's an interesting utility called SOSOS (Son of Snoop on Steroids)
written by Emmet Gray in VB.NET which provides for automatic
documentation of a lot of information using WMI. You can query remote
servers (provided you have admin access of course!) and even save the
results to a database (Access now, but with some tweaking you could dump
it into SQL).

I've written Mr. Gray to enquire if he would mind sharing the project
(it was previously posted on another open-source web site) and he was
happy to point me to the program's new home at
ftp://ftp.dpw.hood.army.mil/programs/sosos .

I've modified a version of his program to document my growing collection
of servers.

Hope that helps :)
