Likewise, can't wait to see 2.0! Using Ultrasound here, too as well...
which I tell you is a far leap from connstat! :) It's actually a pretty
sweet tool... and has really shed some light on replication problems that
occur.

We've always used FRS for sysvol replication w/ fairly good success. This
seems to improve with each subsequent release. I tried to maintain Dfs
using FRS for a long time... got burnt in the initial releases of FRS and
subsequently up to the SP2 version.

it's actually not that instable from a replication perspective - you just
need to know a hell of a lot of little things to understand how it works
(and not to break it accidentally).

using the freebee Sonar and Ultrasound tools from MS have definitely helped
to improve FRS replication (especially the latter, which points you to
issues in on your systems), but these won't help to cover the fact, that the
whole system is rather complex. Nevertheless, the tools are a good
_addition_ to any Monitoring system, as they go deeper into the FRS
specifics than anything else (they won't help you thought to monitor the
rest ;-).

I know MS is working on "FRS 2.0" - basically a complete rewrite of FRS -
looking forward to it...

Thanks for the help yesterday with this, and MS got back to me today. I
thought I'd share the info, for those out there that might be interested.
