Mario,
As you
can see by the responses there are several ways to address this problem.
Utilities and scripting are two. Another alternative that you may want to
consider is SimpleSync from CPS Systems. With it you can fully automate
the process of updating AD from 5.5. It uses LDAP to read from one, then
LDAP to directly update the other. No scripting, no new directory, no SQL
server. Over 185 major companies worldwide run it on a daily basis.
You can use it to sync between any combination of AD Forest (unlimited), 5.5
Organizations, iPlanet, Notes/Domino, OpenLDAP and others. Cost for a 2
directory sync is $9,985. $1K more for additional directories, regardless
of size.
For
more information and to download an evaluation copy of SimpleSync, please
visit www.cps-systems.com
.
If you
would prefer to see SimpleSync 'live', please contact me at [EMAIL PROTECTED] for a web demo
using GoToMyPC or TightVNC.
Thank
you for your time,

Subject: RE: [ActiveDir] Importing Directory InformationWhat format is the data in now? There's really two basic options to update (modify) existing records: LDIFDE and script/programming. Of the two, scripting is the easiest by far since ldif format is not syntax friendly. There are many examples on the web, including Microsoft's site http://www.microsoft.com/library/shared/deeptree/asp/rightframe.asp?
