Title: Logon/Logoff scripts and Services
Only interactive workstation/server logons execute logon scripts. Services and runas and process starts don't do it. I could be wrong but I believe it is the GINA that actually fires the logon script.

Subject: [ActiveDir] Logon/Logoff scripts and Services

We would like to run a logon/logoff script that captures logon/logoff time for users and service accounts.

When a user logs in interactively the script works fine. It does not work with services or scheduled tasks using the "run as" option. Has anyone gotten those scripts to work with accounts used to start services?

The script is stored locally and the logon script value is set via the local group policy. The accounts tested have admin rights on the machine so permissions are not a factor.

I am aware of the event logs and security auditing but would like to attempt this method first as it would be faster and hopefully provide real time information.

Thanks!
