even if you don't like it, the PDC of the NT4 Domain and the PDC emulator of
the AD Domain have to reach each other via NetBios nameresolution (which is
usually achieved by WINS). After you've configured this, you shouldn't have
an issue setting up the trust.

This can be achieved by
1. configuring the TCP-IP properties of your AD PDCe to point to the NT4
Domain's WINS environment (don't do this, if you have many NT4 domains with
separate WINS infrastructure, as it will only register in the entry listed
as the first one in the WINS tab)

2. if he two environments don't use the same or a replicated WINS
infrastructure, you'll at least have to add some static records for the PDCs
and the Domains themselves in WINS:
for the name of the PDC (emulator) add [00h], [03h], and [20h] records
for the name of Domain add the [1Bh], [1Ch], and [1Eh] records

Note: for Win2000/2003 you need to use the NetSh command to add the [1Bh]
record

3. if you don't want to use WINS, configure the lmhosts file on the two
machines to contain the same records as decscribed above.
