Schema changes absolutely positively should be done in a
test environment at least once and hopefully multiple times prior to tagging
production. You may not catch everything that can burn you you will certainly
catch more than you would have caught had you not tested.

We recently upgraded
our schema to support Exchange 2003 and one of the LDAP display names for an
existing attribute changed and it broke some of our apps. Now we are
preparing to upgrade the schema to support upgrading to 2003, but I want to be
sure of all changes to existing schema attributes so I can prepare applications
to make proper changes. I haven't found a comprehensive list of changes
that are made and was hoping someone here could point me in the right
direction.
