Peter, you might be right! I was assured by the network engineers that all network devices were running smoothly so i ended up in an endless search for the problem in AD stuff. Late in the afternoon i brought one of the affected clients upstairs in the server room, plugged in the same switch as DCs and everything turned back to work as it should have. I also did some tests with another client. Plugged it next to DCs, joined it to the domain and saw it working fine. I brought it downstairs and i got it immediately stuck again. I didn't have the time and will to do furhter tests for today, but i feel (i hope!) this should be pretty enough to exclude any DCs/AD related issue, provided that i spent a lot of time on checks of all sort. Starting Monday, the network engineers will do their tests to try to isolate the faulty device.
If people won't mind about the OT, would you care to share more information about your experience with your customer? If this really turns to be a switch problem, how did you discover it? In my very case, i was fooled because, once started, PCs seemed to perform fine with ping, DNS resolution etc, Thank you > This could be a switch issue.
