I don't think it is anything for back up software as my test domain has it and there is no backup software installed other than MS Default...

According to the schema defs it is for trusts and service passwords - http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url="">

Here is the from my test domain....

Would I delete the collision object.... Hmmm, not sure on that. In test, you betcha... In production I would try to get MS on the line and talk to them. Most likely you will have to keep escalating to find someone who understands what it is about.

Nicolas,

I am using built-in Microsoft backup.
I looked at that data already, but it is a very strange. It holds no real data to determine what it is used for .

You can look at this object using ADSIedit or LDP, which will tell you the values of the attributes help by the object, which will also reveal the kind of object it is.

That would help a lot. Say, what backup software are you using?

Subject: [ActiveDir] Object replication conflict

Hi,

I have a replication conflict on the object CN=BCKUPKEY_PREFERRED Secret,CN=System,DC=mydomain.

I have no idea what that object is used for. Googling for it didn't help either.
I am a bit uncertain just to remove the conflicted object, nor do I know what data that it holds in case I want/have to move this data to the original object.

Can anyone help me out here, please?

thanks
