Carlos did you check RSOP on a client to see if it’s getting the Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > Network > DNS Client > DNS Servers setting from somewhere? “Warning: The list of the DNS servers defined in this setting supersedes DNS servers configured locally and those configured using DHCP. The list of DNS servers is applied to all network connections of multihomed computers to which this setting is applied.” With a new AD could someone have set this? Everything would work as expected internally, and only fail in the situation you are seeing. And this setting requires Windows XP.

I tried that and it seems to work. The problem though is I cant expect the users to do this every time they want to use their connections, there must be something that is going wacky here.
Don’t you agree?

Maybe trying some actions from the cmd line would help such as:
IPCONFIG /release [adapter] Release the IP address for the specified adapter. IPCONFIG /renew [adapter] Renew the IP address for the specified adapter. IPCONFIG /flushdns Purge the DNS Resolver cache. IPCONFIG /registerdns Refresh all DHCP leases and re-register DNS names.
