Hi again all -

I found my problem. The file/print sharing was disabled unknowingly.

Have a great weekend and for you MOMs out there...Happy Mothers Day!

Hi and thanks for the replies.

I can tracert to and from both servers. I can ping to and from both
servers.

I can Manage and Map drives to the DC or any other server from the
member (Altiris) server.

What I cannot do is Manage or Map a drive from the DC or any other
servers to the Altiris member server.

I can run the Altiris Console from the Altiris member server and I know
it is seeing the SQL database which is located on a separate server. So
I know the member server is sending network traffic and able to pull
that SQL database.

Anymore ideas are appreciated. I have been searching the net to find
answers, hope someone can help.

Thanks

Samantha

>(or
DNS server) and see where it drops:
"c:\tracert <DC IP address>"

If it gets all the way to the DC, then it's a name resolution issue. If
it doesn't get to the DC, then you have either a NIC configuration or
network problem.

Subject: [ActiveDir] Member server not seeing DC

Hello all -

Windows 2000 member server
Running Altiris application
Static IP on both member and DC
Windows 2000 Active Directory DC

We run Altiris on a W2K member server. Last night we had to reboot
active directory DC for the Sassar update. Since then the Altiris
member server will not see the DC. I cannot ping the DNS servers
either.

I can ping 127.0.0.1 from the member server and get replies. When I try
to ping the DC, it times out. I don't want to remove the server and
readd it to the domain because I know it can't see the domain to be
readded.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

Thanks

Samantha
