some utils that i have used:
Eventcombnt (multiple versions): http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/release.asp?releaseid=36834 <http://tinyurl.com/yqzak> http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=7AF2E69C-91F3-4E63-8629-B999ADDE0B9E&displaylang=en <http://tinyurl.com/a5zj>
PsLogList: http://www.sysinternals.com/ntw2k/freeware/psloglist.shtml <http://tinyurl.com/2xsyc>
As mentioned already LogParser - but try to get version 2.2 (Beta) - i think its only available to TechNet subscribers. If you need help with it check out http://www.logparser.com/instantforum33/default.aspx - the author of the tool, Gabriele Giuseppini [MSFT], is *very* responsive.
NTLast (hasn't been updated in awhile): http://www.foundstone.com/resources/proddesc/ntlast.htm <http://tinyurl.com/2romw>

Hi, i'm one admin in charge of about 30 servers(ad,exchange, sql, etc), does anyone know of a good cheap(free) way to monitor eventlogs without having to term or connect to each server? i was thinking of a perl script maybe via ms sql or mysql to send event errors or warnings to a centralized db or file. i find i spend about an hour or more of my morning monitoring and checking logs and i thought i'd use a pc to actually help me and do what it was meant to do- boring tedious tasks. how do you guys do it on this list?
