unless you really have a badly designed or misbehaving Win2k AD today, there is no reason for you to go through a migration with all the hassles involved (the hassles are worth it for consolidation and other reasons, but not to go from 2000 to 2003). So stick to an inplace upgrade and check out the following KB with more details:
