Just thought of something. The name that is auto generated for a
machine needs to be changed before I added it to the Domain. Can this
be done on the command line without a reboot? Just prior to using
netdom?

Use netdom.

NETDOM JOIN machine /Domain:domain [/OU:ou path] [/UserD:user]
           [/PasswordD:[password | *]]
           [UserO:user] [/PasswordO:[password | *]]
           [/REBoot[:Time in seconds]]

NETDOM JOIN Joins a workstation or member server to the domain.

machine is the name of the workstation or member server to be joined

Ok I know there is a way but I seem to have a disconnect and cant find
where I read about it at.

I want to take a windows xp sp2 machine newly built and join it to the
domain and have that workstations name go into a certain OU. Whats the
command.

Thanks

Jeff
