Have him try checking the "Omit Duplicate Rows" box on the General tab of the Query Statement Properties. It's more than likely do to the same computer meeting multiple requirements of his query.

The duplicates I was referring to had to do with SMS server queries where it would end up with, say, "computer1" and "COMPUTER1" as two separate entries. I'm not the SMS guy, only reporting what he was seeing. Michael M. Is your problem with duplicates or case-sensitivity or both? I would expect some issues with case when it comes to Kerb realms depending on how you have that implemented and what realms are involved. The regular day-to-day Active Directory only wouldn't care about case. Duplicates would be different and those should be eliminated. Can you give some more details about what you're seeing? Sent: Thursday, December 02, 2004 11:13 AM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: [ActiveDir] case sensitivity issues in user/computer names Hi All, We are seeing some issues regarding case sensitivity in user and computer names. Regarding user names, we see problems involving Kerberos authentication across realms or via outside authentication methodologies and possibly in the use of KX509 certificates. Regarding computer names, we see problems involving SMS client lists with the same computer being listed twice. While our normal procedures create lowercase user names, we do have some with all uppercase or mixed case that were migrated from child domains where there was not as much standardization. I don't recall this subject coming up on this list and wonder if there are other issues regarding case sensitivity that are going to bite us in the a**. I am pushing for both user and computer names to be all lowercase. Comments appreciated. Michael M.
