Yes it can cause problems ... but problems is vague, problems come in all shapes and sizes ... 1. It should NOT cause corruption type problems. Data should still be safe, data loss is treated very seriously. 2. It could cause performance/throughput/latency I/O problems even on the host and other VMs, they're all competeing for the same physical disk. So, the host BSOD'd, and you had flaky IDE RAID hardware ... that sounds like extenuating circumstances that would've been beyond our control. Case solved. ;) If you ever want to stress a drive system, jetstress isn't too shaby for that.
