Hi Bart,

The domain in which the sidHistory has to be added to (migrated) users has
to be in native mode at least. Be aware of the fact that some new trust
types (like Forest Trusts) have a new option called SidFiltering. This is
enabled by default and effectively stops sidHistory from working over this
trust.

Going from mixed to native mode has no consequences for you NT4 servers. If
you've got any NT4 DC's, these will stop functioning correctly as DCs.
However non DC server and workstations will function!

Cheers!

Subject: [ActiveDir] Using sid History

Hi all,

I'm reading the MS Domain Migration Cookbook (chapter 4). Do I
understand correctly that if I want usse sid history my target AD
2003 domain has to running in native mode?

Will NT 4.0 servers (no DC) and workstation continue to work smoothly
when I switch from mixed to native?

rgds,

Bart
