Setprefdc does not work for Windows 2000.  You can control which DC a server
authenticates against by configuring sites.  The clients will authenticate
against a DC within it's own site if the sites are correctly configured.
That should resolve the problem of the server using a remote server for
authentication.

I'm not sure if its still valid for W2K+, but NT4 SP4 had a utility
called SetprfDC.exe which did this.
