You create a new delegation and specify the IP Address of the BIND server.
Wizard will do it. Scripts will do it. You don't NEED to hack any boot file.

how would one delegate authority of a zone from a windows2k dns server to a
linux bind server?

this is not an internal or AD intergrated dns server. just a public domain.

would it be done thru a wizard or editing the boot files(on both hosts)?
