I am trying to put together a very simple "netdom" command to add a
computer into our AD structure using a domain admin account:
Netdom add computer_name /domain:xxx.yyy
/ou:cn=test,ou=testou,dc=xxx,dc=yyy
When I run this command I get back:
The system cannot find the file specified.
The command failed to complete successfully.
I can add this computer easily to the same OU with the same account in
ADUC. I can even add it successfully if I leave off the "/ou:......"
where it creates it in the default "Computers" container. I keep
thinking I have added the OU string wrong, but have even tried a cut and
paste from an "adfind" command for another computer already in the OU.
I must be doing something very simply stupid here but I just don't see
it. Can someone tell me what I am doing wrong? Thanks much!
