I used NewSID. I have used this technique on
various occasions when I have had to install several physically
identical servers and haven't noted any problems. It is also a good way
of familiarising with the RAID controller. Personally I think it's a
good idea to abuse servers a bit before they go into production (by pulling out redundant disk) and
this way you can also check that the RAID really regenerates properly.
