there'd be plenty to write about which settings to use at what time etc., but if you have a Win2003 box with SP1 you can run the Security Configuration Wizard (SCW) to configure a DC role, which - besides many other things - will ask a few detailed questions as to which clients are connecting to your network and if you need this or that option etc. => it will then suggest the appropriate configuration for the various LanManager Settings.
