De important thing here is to have identical user accounts in the NDS
and AD and the clients is joined to AD and has the novell client
installed! If the passwords are the same the windows login will be
automatically. If the passwords differ you will get a notification your
AD domain password is not correct and you will need to enter it in the
windows logon box

Cheers

Close.

We have AD and Exchange already, we are merging a company that has NDS
and Notes, we are going to migrate the Notes mailboxes to our Exchange
org then do the NDS -> AD migration later.

But I think if they get 2 logins when they login if the passwords are
the same they may be ok.

If you don't have AD yet, install it and join the clients (presuming
windows clients) to the AD domain

Install and exchange org and establish interoperability between notes
and exchange for mail and free/busy (one of the third party to consult
for possible tooling might be Quest
(http://wm.quest.com/products/notesmigratorexchange/)

Second to do is synching users/passwords and groups from the NDS to AD
so you can create mail-enabled users. Quest has the NDS migrator to this

(although it can not sync passwords) I also know there are other
products that are able to do it. Some of the products in the market use
the password changing moment to capture it and write it to the NDS and
to the AD (like Quest does)

As the clients are joined to the domain, have the novell client and
primarily logon to the NDS and secondly to AD (using the same user
account and password) the user will be able to access the exchange
mailbox using the outlook client

Is this an answer to your question?

Cheers

OK, so I know I can sync NDS and AD, but can the users logging into NDS
use Exchange mailboxes? They are currently on Notes and we will be
migrating them in the next 90-120 days.

I have googled quite a bit but can't find a definitive answer.

Thanks!
