Does DSA open on an OU with a lot of objects in it, such as users or contacts and the number of objects to be displayed has been modified ?
Or have custom mmc views been created in the same mmc snap in and multiple mmc snapins open at the same time. Try creating an mmc snapin, withjust the DSA snapin in it, and close it whilst on an ou with very little in it. Is it faster? I suspected DNS but the machine looks to itself for primary DNS and over a slow WAN link for secondary. Pings and nslookup respond quickly.
