Hi Tony :) "While we're on the topic of separate lists, I was thinking of perhaps setting up a MIIS list. I just wonder if there would be sufficient interest?" -> If so, i would be interested of suscribing to such list you would probably create.
We have deployed MIIS 2003 for now 7 months in our university to manage User Identity among multiple data bases and directories such as oracle 9i, openldap, active directory 2003, mssql 2000, and surely other directories in the near future. We just set it in production, and it works fine. But there are many questions that i have no answers in the moment. :( There is a yahoo MIIS list that has a really good knowledge, but I think it will be a good idea to create a MIIS list on activedir list too, in order to benefit of this hight level of expertise of the activedir gurus. So Tony u can count on me to be the fhe first member :-) Cordialement, Yann TIROA Centre de Ressources Informatique. Campus Scientifique de la DOUA. Bât. Here's my humble opinion. I think we see a fairly high level of OT posts here because the folks on the list are helpful and they know a lot about non-AD related stuff. If we were to create a separate list (certainly feasible) my concern would be that people would continue to post OT to the activedir.org list because they know that's where the people with the knowledge are subbed. I think the OT prefix works pretty well as it is. If people don't want to read the OT posts they should be able to filter them out with rules. Anyway, I'm open to suggestions from others. While we're on the topic of separate lists, I was thinking of perhaps setting up a MIIS list. I just wonder if there would be sufficient interest?
