your main problem could be outside of DNS, but a simple requirement for an SBS DC in a "mixed" domain with other DCs => the SBS DC MUST be the PDC and hold all the FSMO roles of the domain/forest.
So first thing you should do is to concentrate on getting those roles transferred accross to the SBS DC. Best way to do so is via commandline: NTDSUTIL ROLES (you'll want to transfer, not seize if at all possible - if you seize the role, then you'll have to take the old Win2000 DC offline or force-demote it.) Ofcourse you'll have to have DNS working right - SBS is a too wizzardry for my taste, but you should at least have an idea if DNS is working ok on the box. If you can't change the settings in the UI for whatever reason, you should still be able to do so via the NETSH INTERFACE commands C:\>netsh interface ip set dns Usage: set dns [name=]<string> [source=]dhcp|static [addr=]<IP address>|none [[register=]none|primary|both] /Guido -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Luciano Giacchetta Sent: Freitag, 22. Now 2000 is server and 2003 Server is server2. Server was the original AD server and i run adprep in 2000 server to join whith 2003 Server AD. In both servers, AD works fine, but server2 start very very slow. I found a lot of information about this problem, and all of them is related to DNS and netlogon. In each server i have run DNS server and i delete the root zone to set DNS forwarders. In server2 , the primary DNS is server and the secondary is server2... i guess that this is the problem... but i cant open Network Connection to perform this change in the adapter... Because netlogon services doesnt work fine... i cant install anything... and i cant start/stop services... My question is.... 1)Could be this problem for dont have in primary dns the server2 DNS server???? 2)How can i change my TCP/IP values in the adapter??? Thanks in advance.... PD: My english is very poor... sorry..
