In the Scheduled Tasks UI - goto Advanced and "view log" what shows up?

Have you tried to create it from teh CLI?

Task scheduler service is running. But when I try to create a new
task nothing comes up. I looked in the local policy and I dont see
any settings
for the task scheduler.
