Does your SQL table know when the information has been updated? If not, then SimpleSync or MIIS are a good idea to investigate further. If it does, you could use that and have it trigger updates. Or you could have timed procedures that wake up, check for changes, and then commit the changes. Still fairly simple solution and can be done by yourself. SimpleSync starts to get more attractive if you have to write code and definitely as you begin to want to sync multiple identity stores. This is still one to one from what I hear, so you have options available that range in price and complexity.
