Yes, it is relative. What I should have said is
that the config commands are simpler than Cisco IOS to achieve
comparable settings -- they don't generally require as many
parameters, because the defaults work well for what I'm trying to do.
I still run all Cisco routers; I just found the Enterasys switches to be a good
value for the money. From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Brian Desmond Sent: Monday, November 21, 2005 9:51 PM To: [email protected] Subject: RE: [ActiveDir] OT: Enterasys vs Cisco I
think the statement of config commands being easier is pretty relative.
Personally I find IOS to be quite intuitive and I could likely punch out a basic
class map for you here even not doing it often based on the amount of time I
spend on IOS based devices… From:

Harris I've got a bunch of their Matrix C2
switches, and they're working pretty well. The config commands are easier
than Cisco to achieve comparable settings, and the default QOS settings work
perfectly with our VOIP. I plan to add more of them next year; they're a
good value for the money. HTH Derek From:

Eiger Hi
– Has
anyone had good or bad experiences with Enterasys networking equipment? We are
planning to go with Cisco, but some Enterasys sales folks promise twice the
performance at half the price. (ok, maybe not quite that good
but….) Any
thoughts? Thanks. --
