That little guy isn't seeing DHCP or DNS ... on the internal network
side who'd handling the DHCP? You can review these Event ID's and see a
bit....

23/11/2005 2:34:41 PM ipnathlp Error None 31002 N/A STARFLEETCMD The DNS proxy agent was unable to bind to the IP address 192.168.0.1. This error may indicate a problem with TCP/IP networking. The data is the error code.
On that entry? In the event viewer can you click on the copy button on that
one and paste the entire contents?

Ken Schaefer burped the following on 24/11/2005 8:25 PM:
Did you say that you can ping the internal NIC by IP address or name
from a
workstation?
Yes.
If so, it would appear that you have TCP/IP running just fine, and
you have
some other issue.
What you mean by "Internally, using normal network protocols, I see
nothing
of the server, AD, or anything." I'm not sure. TCP/IP is a "normal"
protocol,
and you can reach the server using TCP/IP.
What I mean is non-tcp protocols.
So, something else is up. What exactly are you attempting to do? And
what's
happening as a result? Please list any error messages you are seeing.
Prior to switching the NICs, my network was running fine. The server
is a DC, and I had no problem connecting to the domain, with old, and
new systems. Full access to the DFS, the printer connected to the
server...hell, I could SEE the server under My Network Places\Entire
Network\Microsoft Windows Network\Starfleet3. Now, when I go there, I
see every machine EXCEPT the server. I have two new machines from a
client here that I am configuring to use our software, and they are
connected to the hub that is connected to the server, and I can see
the workgroup name that they are running under, and I can see the
machines, and their shares, AND I can map their drives to my machine,
but the server is nowhere to be found.
Additionally, if you look in your Windows Event Logs, do you see
anything
that might help shed light on the situation?
I've attached the latest system log to this message, but I'm not a
networker, I'm an application developer, and I know enough to network
a database application, but if something goes wrong with the network
itself, I'm completely lost.
Thanks
Cheers
Ken
Thanks.
