RE: [ActiveDir] Domain case

The worst thing that could happen?   The domain name is stored in many instances, and if any domain or forest related process hicks up because of binary different names you might loose your domain or forest.   That’s the worst case, but could it get any worse?   Issue here is that nobody knows or would be willing to support this. Theoretically changing the name to lowercase shouldn’t influence anything, but is anyone really sure that there’s no application or process who relies on the same domain name and does not a unsensitive case compare?   Gruesse - Sincerely, Ulf B. (different structure) Just for changing the case in ADDT a domain rename is not needed. Just did it in my test environment by changing the case of the value of the attribute "dnsRoot" of the object "CN=<Domain Name>,CN=Partitions,CN=Configuration,DC=<Domain Name>,DC=<tld>"   The case in ADDT also changed. However. although I have shown it here I DO NOT RECOMMEND IT! (as I do not know what the consequences are of doing it!) It may look better, but WHO CARES? I would leave it as is. A small mistake and you could be in deep sh*t.
