Try stopping the print services first

You can try this.
 
On the file server run the command
 
NET FILE
 
Look for the files in question. Write down the ID
 
Then when you have the IDs
 
NET FILE <ID> /CLOSE
DEL FILE
 
Obviously replace <ID> with the ID from the NET FILE enumeration.

There are a few pdf files that I can not delete on my file and print
server. I have domain admin permissions and the file is not read only.
It gives me the error messages that the file is in use. I don't want to
reboot the server. Has anyone else had this problem and what was the
solution?
