Sorry to bore everyone with such simplicity. I added the following to the beginning of the logon script: net use g: /delete Then changed the server name on the command to map the drive to the new server. Shortcut works as it just points to the drive letter which hasn't changed.

Each client in turn has a shortcut on their desktop which points to the G:/ "drive". After moving the share to a new server I was hoping I could simply change the server name in the log on script and everything would map to the new location and shortcut would work etc. Log on script however is leaving the old mapping and showing it as a disconnected share that is unavaiulable. Can someone tell me how I can edit the log on script to get rid of the old map and map to the new share and with any luck leave the desktop shortcut functional?
