Yes 2003 server is running remote desktop. Yes I can connect via remote
desktop that is in xp and the tool that you listed. And all of the servers
are not responding to remote desktops but if I use remote desktop they all
work.

No. Server 2000 should be running Terminal Services.

Have you verified that Server 2003 is running Remote Desktop and that you or
your group is in the Access Control List? Also, try downloading

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=80111f21-d48d-426e-
96c2-08aa2bd23a49&DisplayLang=en

and try this to connect to a server individually. See if you can connect
using this tool.

Question: Is this just the Server 2003(s) that have quit responding or is it
all of the servers including the Server 2000(s)?

We have 3 servers running terminal services (windows 2000 server) but the
windows 2003 server is not running the terminal services. Does that make
sense? Could that be my issue? The windows 2000 servers running terminal
services???

Terminal services for server 2003 should not be installed unless you are
using it for a terminal services server. If you are strictly using Terminal
Services for server management, un-install terminal services and use remote
desktop.

When it comes to the terminal services are you talking on all my server in
the domains or on my computer in the office? If you are talking the all
servers in the domain I know that at least two of them do have terminal
services installed and running.

It lasts for around 90 days. We ran into the problem where we started up the
server then wondered why we had this problem. Have you checked to ensure
that Terminal services were not installed?

Brian Desmond
Ok but if it's a dll issue wouldn't that have been fix in the reinstall?
Joseph Luptak
If that was true then why would it work for a few weeks and then just stop
cold?

Also I will check and see if some how my anti-spyware has killed it some how
... (now where did I put that test bed for windows xp)

It's just a MMC pop up that I can tell. I don't see any Active X now that
I've launched it here and reminded myself what it looks like.

Me thinks some mmc dll got horked maybe?

I don't use that console that much because if I remember right you can't
wack off printers connecting [not that I've ever seen anyway] and it tends
to draw a small screen which screws up the icons on my servers desktops [I
tend to yank out stuff like services, event viewer and the like.
