Awwwww...never mind.....It did work applying office STD to one group and
office PRO to another by using security filtering. I created 2 new
groups, added the computers to the groups. I did not want to make 2 new
policies because office would uninstall then reinstall on the next boot,
that would not be cool to do to the network. I finally figured out that
the query to get the computers in that group needed to use the dn for
the group to display them. Basically I want to know exactly how many
installs of office we have to keep track of licensing better and now
even the low level helpdesk can install office on someone's computer by
putting them in the right group. I have had no luck with wmi filters
either if that makes you feel any better LOL.

Hi Bill...

Unless I'm misunderstanding you, you shouldn't need to write a query at
all, just give the group read and apply to the policy, and remove
authenticated users. If you're trying to write a WMI filter for this
purpose, I haven't had any luck at all trying to get that to work in
this way.

I have a policy that installs office on computers that are memberOf a
group but am having problems coming up with a query that will pull the
computers that are members of that group. I can do it with users in a
group but not having much luck with computers in a group.
