This is where a provisioning system is much needed. Put a few lines of
vbscript together and use it to "pre-create" the computer account BEFORE you
manually join it to the domain. Put a logic in the vbscript that creates the
computer account in the desired OU. When that computer is then manually
joined to the domain, it will remain in the OU where it had been precreated.

You can put an asp page in front of the vbscript, require authentication for
the web site and when someone uses the tool, grab the user's login
information, find the person's site or OU and create the computer account
based on that information. You can even let the person specify the OU they
want.

My point is that you want to use a provisioning system that has some logic in
it to precreate the computer account.

On what should the decision be based when choosing the OU? Why not use the
NETDOM option to join the server to the correct OU?

Does any have a script that will auto-move a server into another OU after
joining a domain?
