I don't disagree with Scotty, but want to add a
few thoughts...
if you currently have Win2000 AD, the same restrictions
apply as when you'd upgrade to the Win2003 schema (i.e. Exchange 2000 and SFU
2.0 conflicts etc.)
if you already have Win2003 AD, you should generally be
fine, especially if you didn't have any SFU (Services for Unix) components
deployed in your AD at this time - this has caused issues at least once that I
know of (not sure if it's a general thing).
nonetheless, it's certainly a step - like any schema change
- which you should first perform in the lab. Here you should have an AD schema
that matches your production schema as much as possible (should certainly have
all the same classes and attributes) => you can use the new AD Schema
Analyser tool that comes with ADAM SP1 or ADAM R2 to find the
differences in your production and test-lab schema (and to create LDIF files to
update the lab to match your production schema). If all is well (which it
generally should) then you're fine to do the upgrade in the production as
well.

all. Good luck with

I want to
deploy the new DFS feature in Window R2 but I have to extend my schema before I
can use this. Has anyone ran into problem after doing this?
Thanks Mike
